Job Summary

The Team
The Vernon Fire Zone team has been established at its current location since 2003, with a mix of full-time and seasonal staff, including Wildfire Technicians, Crew Supervisors, and the Asset Management Assistant. We are dedicated to fire response, preparedness, and prevention across a wide area, fostering a supportive and results-oriented environment. Collaboration and high performance are at the heart of the team, ensuring a balance between achieving goals and being easy to work with.

The Role
As the Asset Management Assistant (AMA), you’ll play a key role in ensuring crews have the equipment they need to respond effectively to wildfires. Reporting to the Wildfire Officer, you’ll support the entire Vernon Zone and maintain connections with the Kamloops Fire Centre, procurement, facilities, and other Asset Management Assistants across the province. During the summer months plans change constantly in response to the weather and fire load and the AMA will be kept busy. The winter can be slower but there is still plenty of work to be done planning for the next season.
