Job Summary

The Team
The Strategic Policy and Legislation Branch is dedicated to advancing innovative and integrated transportation services and systems to support the movement of people in B.C. It leads transformative policies and projects that promote road safety and encourage use of active and clean transportation. We collaborate closely with other branches, partner organizations and all levels of government on policies and programs that align with our government’s priorities and the Ministry’s strategic vision.

The Role
In this senior role, you will help develop and lead policy and legislative initiatives under the Motor Vehicle Act and regulations, offering valuable support and recommendations for senior management and decision-makers. Your experience and insights will directly influence priority projects and strategies, driving meaningful innovation in B.C.’s evolving transportation landscape. You’ll have the unique opportunity to identify, develop and implement meaningful initiatives that improve transportation safety, accessibility and services for citizens.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management, or in a related field, and three (3) years of related experience.
  • Related experience must include:
    • Planning, developing, and leading complex policy and legislative projects.
    • Preparing briefing materials and documents to support policy decisions and legislative processes.
    • Leading and representing the Ministry in consultations with partner organizations, including influencing and collaborating with groups on significant policy decisions.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with experience making recommendations to senior management and/or decision makers.

This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to 2 days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
