Job Summary

An excellent opportunity to support the Government of BC’s commitment to establish a Canadians of South Asian Heritages museum.

The Senior Policy Analyst leads the research, analysis, development and implementation of engagement opportunities, results, report writing, Cabinet and Treasury Board submissions for the Canadians of South Asian Heritages Museum project. This role will work in consultation with interested communities to advance the Canadians of South Asian Heritages Museum.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, arts or fine arts, or related field, plus a minimum of two (2) years of related* experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related experience includes:

  • Experience in the development of legislation, regulation and/or policy.

  • Experience developing and nurturing relationships with local governments, Indigenous communities, and stakeholders.

  • Experience in planning and coordinating complex projects or assignments.

  • Experience producing concise written documentation including issue papers, reports, briefings, presentations and executive level correspondence.

  • Experience developing processes and participating in consultations to define policy and/or program priorities.

  • Experience in data analysis and conducting qualitative and quantitative research.

Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

  • Individuals who self-identify as South Asian.

  • Experience working with South Asian organizations and/or communities. This can include paid or volunteer experience.

  • Supervisory experience.

  • Experience applying economic tools and theory.

  • Experience with federal, provincial and territorial intergovernmental relations.

PROVISOS

  • Work outside of standard business hours (including statutory holidays and weekends).

  • Occasionally travel to all regions in B.C. for events and tours

About this Position:
This is a temporary appointment until 03/31/2025, that may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home up to four (4) days per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
