Your Opportunity
Our Ottawa office is looking for a Co-op Student or Intern to join the Evaluation Services team within our Risk Advisory Services practice from May to August 2025. Some of the engagements our team has been tasked with in the past year include:
- Assessing the impact of multi-billion-dollar government programs on the housing sector in Canada as well as assessing the risk of climate change impacting the availability of affordable housing.
- Identifying international best practices in social innovation and finance and assessing the opportunity to leverage these opportunities to support the Canadian arts sector.
- Reviewing economic development supports and funding programs for Indigenous populations in Canada and providing recommendations for opportunities for improvement.
- Our clients include a range of public sector organizations including Canadian Heritage; Natural Resources Canada; Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada; Canada Housing and Mortgage Corporation; Indigenous Services Canada; and many more.
The Co-op Student or Intern will own the following responsibilities:
- Support engagement teams to plan and deliver program evaluations
- Play an active role on the team, playing a crucial role in multiple projects and working closely with leadership and clients
- Review, document, evaluate, and assess relevance, effectiveness (performance) and efficiency of programs and initiatives in a wide range of environments
- Maintain a proactive and logical approach to information gathering and analysis, presenting complex ideas clearly through writing and speaking

Your experience and education
- You are currently working towards a relevant degree/diploma such as in social science, economics, or business, or another relevant degree where you have experience conducting research and/or writing research papers
- You have a desire to provide outstanding client service and a commitment to teamwork
- You have proven leadership skills and can take initiative to seek understanding
- You have a strong acumen for assessing relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and impact
- You can diagnose project issues, build solutions, and draft impactful communications for clients
- You display strong problem solving, analytical, writing and communication skills
- You have or qualify to receive Government of Canada security clearance
