Your Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager specializing in Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) to join our National Accounting Standards team. This role offers the flexibility to work from any of our Canadian office locations.

As a leader within our National Assurance & Accounting team, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership and guidance on the application and interpretation of PSAS across the Firm.
  • Conducting research and offering guidance to assist individuals in the Firm’s local offices, including Accounting Advisory, on complex accounting and financial reporting matters.
  • Offering training and practical tools to the Firm’s local offices and directly to clients on Financial Reporting Frameworks, with a focus on PSAS.
  • Performing quality control reviews on financial statements.
  • Developing accounting and financial reporting publications, manuals, and other practice tools for internal and external distribution.
  • Designing and delivering effective accounting and financial reporting training programs for Partners, staff, and clients, including live instructor-led, web-based, and virtual instructor-led training.
  • Developing/Enhancing Firm policies related to PSAS accounting standards.

Your experience and education

  • You possess a CPA, CA designation (or other similar professional designation, e.g., CPA, CGA / CPA, CMA, etc.).
  • You have at least 5 years of post-designation experience in accounting standards.
  • You possess strong proficiency with PSAS reporting standards.
  • Experience and knowledge of ASPE and ASNPO frameworks are considered assets.
  • You have experience in delivering training and presentations, including developing relevant materials.
  • You have effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • You possess a foundational understanding of other standards, policies, and procedures, including assurance standards, securities regulation, risk management, independence, and tax.
