The Manager, Corporate Communications and Social Media plays a key role in defining and establishing Belron Canada’s internal communications strategies, our employer brand and our social media approach for our employees and potential candidates. He/she will be responsible for developing communication strategies to enhance the appreciation of overall engagement and operational excellence via our internal programs and communications deliverables to internal functions.
The manager will also be responsible for the company's file and relations with the Office québécois de la langue française and will ensure the company's compliance with our responsibilities with respect to the rules of conduct and legislation in this area.
In addition, the Manager will be responsible for 1 of our program of the company's corporate social responsibility programs “From US to You”.
Main Responsibilities:
Lead Belron Canada’s internal communications:
- Manage the human resources under his/her supervision (permanent or contractual), including their overall performance and deliverables.
- Establish the communications strategic plan taking into consideration the business needs, our values and talent acquisition challenges.
- Lead Belron’s Canada social media’s strategy.
- Liaise with Belron Global Internal communications department (UK)
- Stay informed and understand Belron Global’s Communication Agenda and Belron Canada's to develop and implement an optimal communication approach to our employees.
- Owner of a comprehensive calendar of communication initiatives for both internal/external communications.
- Collaborate with and gather information from a wide variety of internal stakeholders and subject matter experts and simplify complex information for a wide variety of audiences.
- Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans to support key corporate and business unit priorities, organizational change, team engagement strategies, etc.
- Craft messages for senior level executives; including speeches, video scripts, presentations, and written messages for internal or external use.
- Develop and implement the framework of communications to reduce "silo" communication approaches and promote consistent and clear messaging.
- Maintain and improve, as needed, our corporate communication vehicles (Intranet, corporate newsletter, internal communication email) while considering the identification of vehicles for each target audience (corporate charter).
- Leverage various channels to reach key audiences including digital and visual communications tools and tactics.
- Recommend and implement best in class communication practice.
- Ensure the incorporation of new technologies and techniques to communicate effectively within the company.
- Develop and maintain tools to measure the effectiveness of internal communications.
- Manage the portfolio of Internal Communications external providers / consultants (graphic designer, print media, translator, audio/video specialist, etc)
Belron’s intranet portal:
- Recommend and lead Belron Canada’s intranet governance with identified key stake holders
- Serves as an editor and provides communications content for Belron’s Intranet portal
Liaison and compliance with the Office québécois de la langue française
- Acts as a liaison with the French Language Office.
- Lead Belron Canada’s Francization work council
- Ensure all reports to the Office de la langue Française are compliant and are submitted on time.
- Bring to the attention of the Executive any infractions and recommends remedial action as required.
From Us To You (FUTY) Program
- Lead this Canadian initiative
- Manage all communications and deployment assisted by the regional ops support specialists.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design or a related field preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in managing a corporate communications department at a medium to large organization. Experience in social media and external communications will be an asse
Technical & professional skills
- Bilingualism 100% (French/English)
- Advanced skills in the latest communications technology, including photo/video editing software, the ability to work with web content management systems and analytics tools, and mastery of Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to think and communicate clearly, formulate a clear point of view, and create a concise and well-written narrative
- Demonstrated project management experience, preferably in communications
- Ability to build relationships with a various senior-level stakeholders across geographies and functions
- Creative problem-solver; sees the value in active brainstorming and collaborative innovation
- Strong writing and editing skills, with a proven track record across a variety of audience groups and channels
- Avid juggler, able to shift gears and manage multiple priorities with enthusiasm and energy; proactive worker who can fit successfully into a virtual, dispersed team and has great upward management skills
- Experience with internal communications campaigns that build engagement and driving adoption among a geographic dispersed stakeholder
- Highly adaptable to rapidly changing situations and an ability to prioritize in the heat of the moment
- Ability to develop communications in multiple mediums including written communications, talk tracks and power-point presentations
- Keenly focused and able to pay painstaking attention to details and develop projects with colleagues in a wide range of locations and job functions
