Description
The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Grade 12 graduate or equivalent required
- Graduate of recognized business school preferred
- Accurate computer keyboarding skills required
- Knowledge of medical terminology required
- Knowledge of terminal digit filing system and computerized patient index preferred
- Aptitude for detailed work to ensure accuracy in work required
- Previous experience with filing systems required
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality required
- Ability to concentrate on repetitive tasks for prolonged periods required
- Excellent organizational skills preferred
- Ability to prioritize work and multitask required
- Ability to meet departmental workload requirements required
- Demonstrated ability to fulfill role within Attendance Support Program parameters required
- Complete receptionist duties
- Scanning and verification of Emergency / Ambulatory Care/Same Day Surgery/Inpatient records
- Filing of patient records according to terminal digit filing system
- Maintenance of filing area including shifting of files on a regular basis
- Purging of charts
- Retrieval of patient records as required
- Performs other clerical duties in the department at the discretion of the Manager or designate
Selection will be made on the basis of ability, experience and qualifications as per Article 11.04 of the SEIU Collective Agreement
