Description
The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Baccalaureate degree in health related discipline required
• Master’s degree preferred
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario or related Regulated Professional College preferred
• CNA Certification preferred
• Completion of a Leadership/Management course preferred
• Recent experience in a Leadership role required
• At least five (5) years surgical experience preferred
• Experience in a surgical setting preferred
• Demonstrated skills in day-to-day problem solving (patient safety, staffing, complaint resolution, conflict resolution, fiscal budget and performance management planning, change management, professional performance management, accountability and risk management) required
• Demonstrated knowledge of provincial and regional initiatives impacting surgery i.e. QBP, Wait times, CCO etc preferred
• Ability to lead and implement change effectively with a key focus on patient safety and quality required
• Demonstrated skills in day-to-day problem solving (patient safety, staffing, complaint resolution, conflict resolution, fiscal budget and performance management planning, change management, professional performance management, accountability and risk management) required
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary and interprofessional collaborative care team required
• Demonstrated ability to promote staff development, quality improvement programs and patient and family centered care required
• Ability to use related information systems tools (Oracle, Staff Scheduling, MS Word, Outlook, Excel)
• Areas of responsibility to be determined based on successful applicants relevant experience

• All management positions require strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills, as well as extensive clinical experience
• Promotes and facilitates the use of systems that ensure patient needs are being met, and that the provision of patient care is consistent with the goals, objectives and standards of the programs aligned to the strategic goals and priorities
• Facilitates and champions an interdisciplinary collaborative approach to problem solving and decision making by the patient care team around program and patient centred care goals
• Assists in the identification and planning of patient and staff education programs and in the orientation of new team members to the program
• Monitors and analyses the results of quality improvement processes and measurements providing recommendations, solutions/changes to improve patient care
• Co-ordinates the day-to-day utilization of human and material resources to achieve the program’s goals and function
• Monitors attendance and performance of team members in achieving the disciplines’ standards of practice and manages performance reviews as delegated by the Program Director
• Assists the Program Director to achieve the program financial targets by monitoring program expenses and implementing corrective action as directed
• Assist the Program Director to meet benchmark targets related to patient satisfaction, employee satisfaction, leadership development initiatives, quality improvement initiatives
• Works collaboratively with Professional Practice, Performance/Transformation and Patient Flow and clinical process support to promote clinical change processes
• Assists Program Director to monitor compliance with all relevant legislation, corporate policy, and collective agreements
• Attends work on a regular basis
• Other related duties as assigned
