Description
The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program required
• Current NRP Certification required
• Current BCLS Certification required
• Current ACLS Certification required
• Current registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists required
• Basic proficiency in the use of computers required
• Experience with Meditech preferred
• Recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist preferred
• Respiratory therapeutic service including: patient assessment, oxygen and medication therapy; airway management; mechanical ventilation, Bipap,; safety checks of anaesthesia and related equipment; respond to cardiac arrests and other medical emergencies; transport of high risk patients including neonatal population. Attend high risk deliveries with stabilization and ventilation/CPAP/BIPAP of newborns and paediatric cases.
• Respiratory diagnostic service including pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gas analysis
• Art line insertions and Intubations
• Participates in unit/department and Hospital Quality Improvement initiatives
• Completes continuing education requirements as necessary
• Acts as a coach, mentor, resource and positive role model for new staff and students
• Other related duties as assigned
