We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate to join the Structured Products Strategies Group, which is part of the Structured Equities Trading desk. Our group focuses on the pricing and issuance of exotic derivative products and provides competitor monitoring to sales and trading to discern the competitiveness of our pricings. We also produce secondary market prices for our issued structured notes products. The Associate will play a crucial role in building out our robust and scalable exotic options pricing and issuance platform, which serves as a central command center for trading, sales and structuring.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Familiarity with financial markets(Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives)
• Some knowledge of financial engineering concepts, familiarity with pricing theory and derivatives
• Understanding of key market, credit, and liquidity risk management concepts is beneficial
• Knowledge of probability, statistics, and numerical methods for optimization problems is advantageous
• Robust grounding in computer science concepts
• Strong understanding of database design
• Strong background in systems programming is highly desirable
• Advanced programming skills in C#, Python, React JS, SQL
• Detail-oriented
• Strong communication skills. The candidate will be required to communicate clearly with various stakeholders (trading, sales, structuring) to understand and resolve issues and solve problems
• Ability to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, processes, calculations

Experience / Education / Other:

• Experience as a financial industry professional, ideally in a quantitative role. Internships count.
• Undergraduate degree in a computing domain (i.e., computer science, computer engineering, mathematics with minor in computer science)
• Master's degree and/or professional designation (CFA, FRM) is a plus

Base Salary

$110,000.00 CAD

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
