Junior School Occasional Supply Teacher

The Opportunity:

The Junior School Occasional Supply Teacher will be responsible for providing classroom coverage on an as-needed basis in the Junior School, assisting with supervision, co-curriculars, and implementing the program within the classroom as assigned.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

With an SEL lens, create and contribute to a classroom environment that inspires and supports learning and personal growth;

Establish supportive rapport with students and colleagues;

Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a strong

foundation for further education in accordance with each student's ability;

Deliver lessons, which allow for differentiation of learning for all students, as assigned by the classroom teacher;

Use relevant technology to support instruction;

Supervise students during lessons, at recess and lunch or as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution;

Ontario College of Teachers certification or equivalent degree with Primary/Junior qualifications with a minimum of 1-2 years of teaching experience;

Specialty in French, Phys Ed., Music is an asset;

Experience in and knowledge of IB is an asset;

A proven ability to have a caring rapport with students.

Knowledge of relevant technology and able to work in a laptop environment with required devices and applications;

Possess strong oral and written communication skills;

Work independently with little direct supervision;

Accept responsibility and is self-motivated;

Demonstrate strong work ethic;

A positive attitude and ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanour;
