Description
As a member of the legal commercial team, your main responsibilities will include advising a multitude of teams and participating as a legal expert in the development of new projects for Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (BRP) and its affiliates, primarily in North America.
To achieve this, you'll focus on business issues, particularly in drafting, negotiating, and implementing various contractual structures. You'll support the advertising content creation and distribution teams, the teams working with marketing agencies and brand ambassadors, the sales and customer service units, as well as the teams involved in developing and managing distribution networks.
You'll work closely with colleagues in Legal Services and internal business teams comprised of professionals from Procurement, Data Privacy and Security, Insurance, Tax, Public Affairs, Compliance and Patents, Product Safety and Communications. You will participate in protecting BRP's interests in the best possible way, while minimizing the financial and legal risks associated with business decisions and strategies.
YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
- Merge your legal instincts with your business acumen to become a key partner in the company's success.
- Contribute to advertising and marketing content and strategies for all BRP brands around the world.
- Structure, draft, review, analyze, negotiate and interpret contracts essential to the company's business, including service purchase agreements and business support and development contracts.
- Identify problems, assess risks and make recommendations to solve or prevent them by providing proactive advice, developing negotiation strategies and creating innovative solutions.
- Understand and stay informed about industry trends and the company's legal and regulatory landscape, as BRP is constantly evolving.
- Promote compliance with company guidelines and policies, and contribute to training for BRP's internal business partners.
YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
- 1 to 5 years of experience as a lawyer within a company or in the commercial practice of a law firm.
- A bachelor’s degree in law (LL. B or J.D.) and membership with good standing in a relevant law society.
- Experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts such as master service agreements, supplier agreements, software usage and development agreements, IT services, professional and consulting services, SaaS, etc.
- Great intellectual curiosity and social intelligence.
- The ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and competing priorities under tight deadlines and changing circumstances.
- A talent for converting complex legal concepts into practical, actionable advice.
- Perfect fluency in French and English, both spoken and written. Please note that, due to the nature of the work, you will very frequently have to work with teams or suppliers located outside Quebec.
- The ability to travel periodically between BRP's Quebec offices (Valcourt, Montreal, Sherbrooke).
