Description
We are looking for an electrical engineer on the engineering team, who will report to the Team Leader, SSV Electrical Integrators, and have a major impact on the design, development and validation of various electrical and mechatronic systems of a recreational vehicle.
YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop control and diagnostic functions for vehicle control modules.
- Develop technical requirements documents for the development of electrical parts and mechatronic systems with suppliers;
- Perform calculations, analyses and validate different parts and/or groups of parts of one or more systems.
- Validate and approve shop drawings, electrical diagrams and engineering drafts of electrical systems.
- Supervise the assembly, diagnosis and validation of prototype vehicles in the workshop;
- Develop and execute the test plans necessary for the validation of technical solutions while taking into account established norms and standards;
- Upload software to various control modules and calibrate the mechatronic functions of the vehicles, both in the workshop and on the open water.
- Supervise technicians/developers to meet development objectives.
- Collaborate with suppliers in the development of electrical and electronic components as well as set deadlines and standards.
- Collaborate with the design, production, purchasing, quality assurance and manufacturing engineering teams.
- Solve production and networking problems and follow up with suppliers.
YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
- A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- An engineering certification or in the process of obtaining one.
- You understand and are able to integrate electrical, electronic, software and mechanical principles.
- Ability to take initiative, autonomy and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Good ability to speak and write in English and French to support the manufacturing plant and suppliers who are outside Quebec.
- You can analyze and solve complex problems, and be creative and innovative.
- Experience with Catia/SmarTeam, CRETA and INCA software would be an asset.
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to perform mechanical repairs and physical tests.
- You are available to travel occasionally.
