BRP is looking for an analyst to join our external reporting and consolidation team and be at the heart of the corporate accounting function, assisting the manager in the preparation of complex accounting analysis and external consolidated financial information.
As part of your role, you’ll be working closely with divisional accounting teams based in various locations around the world, as well as with the tax, FP&A, and treasury functions. You will also act as a finance business partner for business units on the analysis of complex accounting treatments.
YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
Act as the subject matter expert supporting various business units and the corporate function on all non-routine transactions such as business acquisitions, impairment, etc., as well as other complex accounting treatments.
Prepare documentation using IFRS standards on complex accounting treatments, present accounting positions and provide support to business units in the application of conclusions.
Prepare ad hoc financial analysis requested by management or business units, highlight key complex accounting implications and present them to stakeholders.
Contribute to the preparation of external consolidated financial statements and MDA, specifically disclosures and normalized items.
Ensure accounting, financial reporting and disclosures comply with International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS).
Be proactive in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in accounting policies.
Serve as the lead for training accounting professionals within BRP’s finance function.
Address queries from auditors and internal reviewers.
YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
At least 5 years of relevant experience.
CPA certification is required.
Expert knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and regulatory requirements applicable to public companies.
Solid skills and experience in writing accounting positions supported by IFRS standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
An analytical and problem-solving mindset.
The ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
The ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Application expertise (desirable): Blackline, SAP and Controller.
