Manager, Manufacturing Strategy & Robotics

We are looking for a Department Manager, Manufacturing Strategy & Robotics reporting to the Department Manager, Global Operational Technology to help us develop and implement the long-term strategy and vision for integrating robotics into manufacturing processes. This role has a major impact on improving efficiency and productivity through innovative robotic solutions, aligning with the company's overall strategic manufacturing objectives, and leading the deployment of robotic technologies in production facilities.

YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive robotics strategy aligned with the company's overall manufacturing objectives.

  • Be responsible for identifying key automation and robotics opportunities in manufacturing processes to improve production efficiency, quality and profitability.

  • Provide strategic direction for the integration of robotics across multiple production sites while ensuring consistency of robotics application across regions.

  • Lead and coordinate the robotics team.

  • Oversee the execution of robotics projects, from concept to implementation, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet performance targets.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations and IT, to ensure successful integration of robotics into existing production workflows.

  • Work closely with site management and other departments (IE, quality, R&D...) to align robotics strategy.

 

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:


  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, robotics or related field.

  • 10 years' experience in robotics, automation or manufacturing strategy, including management experience 

  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, robotic systems and automation technologies (e.g. robotics (Fanuc), PLC (Allen Bradley/ Siemens), SCADA systems, vision systems, AI, machine learning).

  • Good command of the French and English languages, both orally and in writing, in order to work with partners outside Quebec.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
