Packaging Strategy Lead PA&A

We are looking for a packaging strategy lead for our global parts, accessories and apparel team who will report to the manager of global PA&A packaging and labelling. You will be responsible for guiding and assisting the packaging process in reducing waste, maximizing costs, ensuring product safety during transportation and storage, and supporting the display strategy with respect to front of store, direct to customer or back of dealership.

As part of your role, you’ll work closely with different teams across the company to create efficient, sustainable and cost-effective packaging solutions, contributing to the organization’s growth. You’ll be at the forefront of building the new department and offer a wide range of expertise. The PA&A business has been growing continuously and we want to provide a global PA&A strategic packaging and labelling practice aligned with BRP’s reputation.

YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

Your role

  • Ideate, guide and develop packaging and labelling solutions that meet the needs of the company, regulatory bodies and customers.
  • Identify, evaluate and select the ideal packaging materials to deliver the strategy.
  • Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure they deliver the desired packaging and labelling.
  • Work to improve the efficiency of the product packaging process while supporting BRP Branding.
  • Monitor industry trends and innovations to stay up to date with the best practices and technologies for packaging.

Your tasks

  • Develop and execute standard operating procedures and guidelines for product packaging.
  • Document and offer guidance internally and to suppliers in the design process of parts, accessories and apparel to deliver the proper packaging during the design gating process.
  • Ensure packaging solutions protect and preserve products during transportation, storage and handling.
  • Analyze data and carry out research to improve the packaging process and implement relevant solutions.
  • Ensure packaging and labelling consistency and quality across the organization.

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • A bachelor’s or technical degree in product or industrial design, packaging or related technical engineering fields.
  • 7+ years of experience in packaging design and development.
  • French and English: Knowledge of English is essential since you will have to interact regularly with suppliers and vendors in the US and internationally.
  • Strong knowledge of packaging technology, materials and design principles with knowledge of testing methods, regulations and standards for packaging.
  • Familiarity with production equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of sustainability and environmental issues related to packaging.
  • Knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software with project management skills.
  • Strong creativity for developing unique packaging solutions using current trends.
  • Available for occasional travel to visit suppliers, dealers or packaging trade shows.
