Job Summary:
Join our team as a Summer Tutor and make a difference in the lives of students in Grades 1 to 8! We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to provide one-on-one virtual tutoring in reading and/or math. This is a flexible role that allows you to choose your hours and work remotely.
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Summer Tutors to work with students in 45-minute sessions conducted over Google Meet. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster a positive learning environment. Tutors will receive training and all necessary materials to sure a successful tutoring experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct one-on-one tutoring in reading and/or math using provided materials and session structures to guide you sessions.
Engage with students to enhance their understanding and skills.
Ensure the confidentiality and privacy of all student information and interactions.
Communicate effectively and professionally with students and their families.
Attend mandatory virtual training sessions at the end of June.
Manage schedule to ensure availability aligns with student and family preferences.
Submit session reports and attendance as required by the program principals.
Uphold the code of conduct, standards, and objective set by the school board.
Qualifications :
A university degree (preferred), or in the process of completing an undergraduate degree.
Proficiency in reading and/or math at the elementary school level.
Fluency in English; French proficiency is an asset.
Experience in tutoring or teaching is an asset.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Reliable internet and familiarity with Google Meet.
Work Hours:
Flexible; choose from 5-35 hours per week (as determined to meet tutoring demands).
45 minute sessions scheduled with families within the hours of 8:00AM-8:00PM, Monday to Friday.
