Job Summary
The primary objective of the Telecom Network Operations Center is to monitor, manage & support CN networks & Network carried services with a goal to offer optimum Network availability o internal & external customers.
Candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in the IT field. The candidate’s primary responsibility would be to support IT Telecom’s integrated services, applications and infrastructure and troubleshoot application network performance issues.
Excellent knowledge of the following environment’s a must: Wireless technologies, Proxy, DNS, DHCP, IP internetworking including MPLS.
The position also requires the ability to troubleshoot and isolate problems that may arise at the different layers of the OSI model across a multitude of different technologies.
The candidate will also be expected to support and train the Level 1 support teams to write and update technical support documents.
That person will have to adhere to CN Railway Operations availability rules as pager duty will be a part of his responsibilities.
Description:
Shift work 7/24 (Rotating 12 hrs shift work include days, evenings, nights & week ends.)
CCNP “ “Switching” Cisco” and/or Alcatel SRM (2) or equivalent
Excellent understanding of IP and networking concepts including MPLS
Excellent knowledge and experience with Wireless solutions (Wi-Fi, Cellular & Radio)
Great knowledge and experience with IP Services (DNS, DHCP, Radius, TACACS, NTP, VPN,)
Provide level 2 Incident solving support on all Telecom services.
Provide technical expertise to CN Technicians.
Perform pro-active/preventive Telecom Network activities.
Skill set :
High Trouble shooting skills
Solid TCPIP technical expertise (CCNP) or 3 Year experience in support in an IP field.
Bilingual (English & French) is an asset
Self learner
Candidate must be able to properly document and share knowledge with Colleagues.
Should be able to work independently or with little direction.
