As the Community Investment and Stakeholder Relations student, you will work with teams throughout our corporate and field operations to ensure that stakeholder/business and communications deliverables are carried out successfully.

  • Term length: 8 months
  • Term start: May 2025
  • Job location: Calgary, AB - Head Office
  • Shift schedule: 5 x 2 - 8 hours (Monday - Friday)

Key Accountabilities:

  • Community Investment
    • Prepare peer comparison of community investment budgets and key donations
    • Review and make recommendations on funding opportunities that fit within Canadian Natural’s community investment strategy
    • Work with internal communications team to identify and highlight significant community investment initiatives for Canadian Natural’s social media channels
    • lead scholarship program implementation and evaluation
    • Generate and process community investment cheque requests
    • Review and make recommendations for funding requests received electronically / mail, and provide responses
    • Manage select partnerships and commitments
  • Indigenous Business Development
    • Support the Indigenous Opportunities Program, and validation of contractor directory
    • Maintain and update database training manual
  • General
    • Filing - updating and maintenance of communications files
    • Data entry - updating community investment and business development figures
    • Support reporting and setting up meetings
    • Generate:
      • Monthly district plan status reports using database
      • Community summary documents using database
      • Reports for Community Investment, Indigenous Business Development
    • Manage team portfolios for vacation coverage

 What You Bring to The Role:

  • Students studying in the fields of Communications, Business Administration, or Indigenous Studies
