HR Generalist Student – HR Technology Student

The Opportunity: 

Are you a student looking for an exciting opportunity that is full of meaningful, diverse, and ambitious assignments working alongside industry leading professionals? The HR Generalist Student position, in the HR Systems team, will provide you with exposure to all areas of HR and the use of HR technology to support our workforce of more than 11,000 employees.

  • Term length: 12 months
  • Term start: January 2025
  • Job location: Calgary, AB - Head Office
  • Shift schedule: 5 x 2 - 8 hours (Monday - Friday) 
  • Safety sensitive position: No

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide end user support for HR Systems queries for Oracle HCM and UKG 
  • Participate in various project activities ranging from policy changes and annual programs to full system implementation.  Through 2025, the team is implementing:
  • Analytics (visualization and dashboards for HR Reporting)
  • Learning Management System
  • Time and Labour 
  • Participate in various testing activities for regression testing and new system enhancements 
  • Prepare training material and deliver training sessions to end users as part of the change management process
  • Collaborate with other HR teams to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate and deliver on other ad-hoc projects as required

What You Bring to The Role:

  • Currently enrolled in your 3rd or 4th year of a degree program in Human Resources or Information Systems is required with an interest in technology and data management
  • Would be considered an asset:
  • Ability to accurately collect information in order to understand and assess the internal clients’ needs
  • Oracle - Human Capital Management (HCM) or comparable Human Capital Management system experience
  • UKG (formerly Kronos) or comparable Time and Attendance system experience
  • Understanding of HR operations and experience in employee data management
