We have opportunities from Mine Technology, Mine Costing and Projects, Mine Planning, Mine Operations Projects, Mine survey or immerse yourself in our dynamic Tailings planning team.   • Term length: 8, 12 or 16 months
  • Term start: May or September
  • Job location: Calgary, AB or Oil Sands Site (Horizon or Albian site), Fort McMurray, AB
  • Shift schedule: Various
  • Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support mine and tailings operations through performance monitoring, design work, analyzing trends, optimizing production efficiencies
  • Design work may include haul roads, earth structures, tailings storage structures and pit walls
  • Assist in the budget process by collaboratively providing inputs to develop the annual mine operations budget
  • Assist in different planning scenarios and design work to determine best economic path forward 
  • Detailed scheduling to support Mine, tailings and project execution plans

What You Bring to The Role:

  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor Degree program in Mining/Mineral Engineering is preferred, Civil or Geological Engineering is also acceptable
  • A class 5 driver’s license and a relatively clean driver’s abstract is required for this position. Ability to drive in the mine with no known restrictions
  • A pre-employment drug screening test must be successfully completed
  • Required to be physically and mentally fit for work
  • Previous engineering or field experience is considered an asset
