The opportunity

The primary focus of the Analyst, Real Estate Accounts is to provide credit underwriting and administration of a CMHC-backed Real Estate Portfolio. The analyst will assist in preparing credit applications, actively participate in credit structuring, risk management, and assist with reporting. This role will also partner with various Real Estate relationship managers (inclusive of Manager, Senior Manager or AVP, Real Estate Lending), supporting them with general real estate lending when needed.

Areas of focus
  • Support financial objectives through effective credit underwriting and deal administration while managing risk in alignment with CWB’s strategy.

  • Build and maintain experienced knowledge of CMHC policies, procedures, and underwriting guidelines.

  • Assist in managing real estate loan portfolios, including underwriting, analysis, and loan management.

  • Aid relationship managers in devising innovative client solutions, leveraging internal expertise and partnerships.

  • Deliver exceptional client experiences and uphold CWB’s brand promise through continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure operational efficiency, data integrity, and compliance adherence while fostering a positive work environment aligned with CWB’s cultural values.

Successful incumbent
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of credit structuring and credit metrics.

  • Superior attention to detail.

  • Proficient competency of Microsoft Office suite of products, specifically Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
