Sr Software Development Engineer - Testing (SDET)-Canada

Job description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with extensive experience in API & UI automation, cloud infrastructure testing (AWS & GCP), and performance testing using JMeter. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Java and possess a deep understanding of REST and SOAP APIs, with a proven track record of automating API testing using the REST Assured framework.

Key responsibilities:
  • API Automation:
  • Develop and maintain automated API tests using the REST Assured framework.
  • Collaborate with developers to track and implement future automation needs during API development.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to create comprehensive end-to-end automation scenarios.
  • Identify weak points in APIs and data to ensure thorough testing coverage.
  • Deliver high-quality work items in an Agile methodology.
  • Integrate automated tests with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins.
  • Selenium Automation:
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated tests using Selenium with Java.
  • Write efficient, reliable, and scalable automation scripts and frameworks.
  • Analyze test cases and automate them using Selenium WebDriver.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance the quality of test automation code.
  • Troubleshoot and debug test failures, providing timely resolutions.
  • Continuously improve test automation frameworks and processes for optimal efficiency and reliability.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Testing:
  • Perform testing on cloud infrastructures, specifically AWS and GCP.
  • Ensure that cloud-based applications and services meet quality standards and perform optimally.
  • Performance Testing:
  • Utilize JMeter to conduct performance testing.
  • Analyze performance test results and work with development teams to resolve performance bottlenecks.
Required Skills
  • Strong proficiency in Java programming.
  • Deep understanding of REST & SOAP APIs.
  • Extensive experience in API automation using the REST Assured framework.
  • Solid test instincts to identify potential weak points in APIs and data.
  • Experience in working closely with developers and business stakeholders for automation needs.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and delivery processes.
  • Experience and comfort with CI/CD platforms, particularly Jenkins.
  • Proficiency in designing and developing automated tests using Selenium with Java.
  • Expertise in cloud infrastructure testing on AWS and GCP.
  • Experience with performance testing tools, particularly JMeter.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development and test automation.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality test automation solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
