2024/25 Teacher (0.5 FTE - Temporary) Inclusive Education
St. Ann's Academy is celebrating over 140 years of Catholic education in BC and serves as the longest continually operating school in BC. Located in the beautiful city of Kamloops, the school supports over 400 students between Kindergarten and Grade 12.
For the 2024 - 2025 school year, we are seeking a skilled, qualified candidate to join our team as a 0.5 FTE Elementary Inclusive Education Teacher. This position commences September 1, 2024, and ends June 30, 2025.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess:
Active membership in a Catholic parish
Commitment to excellence in Catholic education
A genuine sense of joy in teaching and learning
The ability to be flexible when faced with the ever-shifting needs of today's education system
Elementary Education with a specialization in inclusive education, Master's Degree in Special Education / Inclusive Education, or related experience with working with neurodiverse students
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with other teachers, parents, support staff, administration, and outside agencies
Familiarity with Individualized Education Plans
Ability to support teachers in differentiating, adapting, and modifying curricula, instruction, and assessment
Prepared and plan collaboratively with students, parents, teachers and support staff to develop appropriate plans to ensure the student learning
The ability to adapt learning opportunities to meet the needs of students which may involve small group, pull-out, and push-in situations
A valid TRB certification
The desire to provide leadership of extracurricular activities
