About this opportunity:

The Cost Control Advisor is responsible for providing program level cost control for Upstream Oilsands. The Cost Control and Finance team steward the operating cost accruals, forecasts, long-range plans and analysis for the Lloydminster Upstream assets. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture accurate cost data and provide detailed monthly cost estimates and forecasts

Work Environment:

  • This position is located in Lloydminster or Calgary and requires the successful candidate to live in the area.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and monitor cost tracking, control protocols, systems, and workflow processes

  • Develop yearly/multi-year long range maintenance plans and annual budgeting exercises

  • Define and track key performance indicators related to scope control, cost management and evaluate project performance against established benchmarks

  • Monitor and analyze cost variances, providing timely reports and recommendations to optimize driver budget management

  • Manage monthly cost reports, spend profiles, change management, KPIs, estimates/accruals and other related deliverables

  • Generate regular progress reports, highlighting key achievements, value capture, challenges, and recommended corrective actions

  • Quantify risks and opportunities and support development of mitigation plans as required with key team members

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • 5+ years of experience within cost control or financial analysis

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Managerial Accounting or Finance
