About this opportunity:

The Director of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) - Technology Delivery Manager will ensure the successful delivery of Cenovus's ERP program. This program aims to develop and improve our business processes, data management, and digital foundation.

Reporting to the CIO and Vice President for Data, IT and Technical Delivery, this role will be accountable for the Infrastructure/Cloud, End-user Computing, Testing, Technical Cutover, Transition to Operations, and Deployment functions for the program. This role requires a proactive, collaborative, leadership approach, with the ability to translate complex business needs into technical solutions that advance the company’s strategy and objectives.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the Technology Development workstream for the ERP transformation program, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives, business goals, and requirements

  • Coordinate the development, implementation, and transition to operations of infrastructure, cloud, network

  • Develop the testing services including: strategy, planning, technology, findings tracking and resolution in line with business expectations

  • Oversee the technical cutover activities to ensure alignment with SDLC, Control Framework, Regulatory Requirements, and Organizational Policies

  • Manage the end-to-end technology functions, including Infrastructure/Cloud, End-user Computing, Testing, Technical Cutover, Transition to Operations, and Deployment

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, business units, and external partners, to ensure successful program delivery

  • Collaborate with other senior leaders to develop and implement a comprehensive ERP transformation roadmap, including project planning, prioritization, and risk management

  • Ensure the ERP systems and applications are scalable, secure, and aligned with standard methodologies in the industry

  • Offer mentorship and support to the Technology team, nurturing a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence

  • Supervise performance and ensure the team reaches significant breakthroughs and deliverables, using key performance indicators and managing essential program risks

  • Collaborate with business collaborators and Executives to provide updates on the progress, status, and risks for the program

  • Manage the budget and financial aspects of the department's budget, with a keen eye to driving efficient solutions

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or equivalent experience, or additional certification (e.g., CPA, CIPM, PMP), is considered an asset

  • Must have over 20 years of experience managing large programs, including at least 10 years in a leadership role in a complex organization, preferably in the oil and gas industry

  • Consistent track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams, inclusive of setting priorities, prioritizing resources, and driving deliverables to completion

  • Demonstrated experience working within a large program structure, managing service providers (system integrators), and meeting the expectations of collaborators and customers

  • Experience in developing end-to-end technology solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver large and complex scopes of work

  • Solid understanding of application management, Enterprise Resource Planning technology (preferably SAP), data analytics, reporting, infrastructure, cloud, network, end user computing and service desk functions and the nuances of data security and compliance frameworks such as SOX

  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to convey complex concepts to a variety of audiences

  • Capacity to build cooperative partnerships across IT, business units, and external partners
