About this opportunity:
Cenovus Energy is currently seeking an Instrumentation Technician to join our Ethanol Plant, located in Minnedosa, Manitoba. Working within the Maintenance Department, this self-motivated individual will work with minimal supervision to provide daily and preventative maintenance and repairs to various equipment within the plant.
This position is located in Minnedosa, Manitoba and requires the successful candidate to live in the area.
What you’ll do:
Calibrate, test, tune, troubleshoot, select, and install instrumentation and control equipment, performing preventive maintenance and inspections as needed
Coordinate and maintain control systems, including logic and graphic changes, hardware, and software upkeep
Manage plant OT network devices, such as ancillary devices, vibration monitoring, remote monitoring, and industrial networking, in line with cyber security policies
Collaborate with Operations to ensure control and instrumentation systems are operated accurately and optimally
Maintain documentation, including instrumentation drawing updates, loop drawings, P&ID updates, cause and effect documentation, and project records
Coordinate process changes and additions with operations and engineering to ensure alignment and accurate documentation among collaborators
Participate in HAZOPS and MOC processes, completing assigned documentation and action items as required
Perform all tasks in accordance with Cenovus’ safety protocols and assist other trades with maintenance duties as necessary
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent, with Journeyman Red Seal Instrumentation and Control Technician certification and 3+ years' experience in a heavy industrial or production plant setting
Dual ticket Red Seal Instrumentation/Electrician or Instrumentation Engineering Technology diploma (asset)
Experience with DCS (Foxboro), PLC (Allen Bradley), VFDs (Toshiba/ABB), boiler controls, P&IDs, and cause and effect documentation
Solid understanding of industry practices, with the ability to work independently and under minimal supervision
Self-motivated problem solver with adaptability to new technology and strong attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.
For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
