About this opportunity:
As part of the SeaRose Maintenance Team, the Mechanical Technician ensures equipment is maintained to a specific standard to ensure safe operations and meet design and performance standards in the most productive, cost effective and safest manner possible. Following the SeaRose 21-day work plan, this role will carry out fault finding to diagnosis problems affecting systems and takes corrective actions to anticipate and prevent downtime to improve production.
This position will be based offshore Grand Banks, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. This is a full-time, permanent position working offshore 12-hours per day on a 3 weeks on/ 3 weeks off rotation.
What you’ll do:
Carry out risk assessment exercises and toolbox talks
Perform breakdown repairs as required, identifying areas of improvement for plant and machinery performance
Assist in preparing and submitting requirements for spares and proposals for modifications, and in identifying appropriate stock levels and ensuring they are maintained at an optimum operational level
Report and record all history on equipment, identifying all items of immediate concern
Review and monitor compliance with safe work systems and maintenance procedures
If required, actively participate as a member of the Helicopter Operation Team, MOB/Rescue Boat Team, & as a Lifeboat Coxswain, including attending all safety related training
Training as required by the CAPP Standard Practice for Training & Qualifications of Personnel, Transport Canada, other regulatory requirements, and company required training as per the approved Cenovus Training Matrix
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
First or Second Class Motor Certificate of Competency with Tanker 2 Endorsement and / or Inter provincial Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certificate or equivalent
Experience in planned maintenance systems
Experience in a similar role, possibly gained on barges / semi-submersibles or an upstream oil and gas industry, FPSO experience preferred
Experience working on offshore facilities would be an asset

This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to offshore pre-placement Fitness for Work assessments, which includes drug and alcohol screening, a CAPP medical and BST/HUEBA testing
You must be able to travel via helicopter and boat. This position requires the successful candidate travel offshore, there you will be required to obtain and maintain medical clearance and obtain all required training necessary for offshore travel.
