About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Team Lead, Upstream SCM, the position incumbent will enable Material Requirements Planning (“MRP”) efficiencies with the goal of meeting materials demands and improving overall productivity. The MRP Contracts Analyst, Upstream SCM role is responsible for maximizing process efficiency and cost-effective supply of materials through creation and management of MRP Agreements. This role will be primarily involved with supporting procurement requirements within Maintenance, Operations, and other auxiliary Site Service business areas of Upstream operations across Western Canada.

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure SAP system administration is performed to enable MRP Agreement functionality by updating the Outline Agreement, Source Lists, Purchasing Info Records, Lead Times, and MM Profiling

  • Analyze MRP buying history to determine opportunities for purchasing efficiencies, new supplier agreements, and agreement close outs

  • Negotiate contractual and commercial terms (INCO terms, payment terms, and delivery times) with suppliers and handle MRP agreements in Ariba and SAP

  • Foster relationship management by partnering with suppliers to address issue resolution, process improvement identification, and overall contractual performance

  • Liaise with Material Management, Business Unit and/or Category Management regarding cost, availability, validation of part number changes and supplier performance for contracted materials

  • Prepare month end activity reporting (MM & MRP Usage, RFQ stats, cost savings, etc.). Work collaboratively with team members to increase planning/material master usage

  • Ensure compliance to Supply Chain Business Rules, approved SCM channels, the Cenovus Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, company policies, standards, processes, and regulatory requirements

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • 2+ years of experience in operational supply chain management, with specific focus on MRP Buying, Materials and Warehousing

  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong analytical skills

  • Ability to manage a high volume of work from multiple collaborators

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written)

  • High School Diploma or suitable experience may also be considered; Post-Secondary is an asset
