About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager - SCM Downstream Category Management, this role in this position will provide support to the DS Category Management team on contract administration requirements, including but not limited to RFx creation, contract creation (documentation as well as system), system support for Ariba, SAP & Salesforce. This role will be responsible for handling day to day contract maintenance and supplier dispute such as invoicing errors.

This role will support Category initiatives for Western Canada and the United States.

What you’ll do:

  • Complete sourcing initiatives per the annual plan, and ensure all supporting activities are in accordance with Cenovus' processes

  • Handle categories including the development of strategies, pre-qualifications of suppliers, development of RFx initiatives, bid evaluations, negotiations, award, and post-award management

  • Post-award contract management including contract changes, dispute resolution, claims management, and close-outs

  • Ensure all documentation is stored in the appropriate Contract Management Systems in accordance with Cenovus requirements

  • Liaise and consult with Business and subject matter experts (SMEs) from Legal, Risk Management, HSE, QA/QC, etc. in support of pre and post-award commercial activities

  • Support SCM Business Value Methodology and strategic objectives

  • Support the business by reviewing supplier performance

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • 2-5 years of procurement or contract management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Business Administration or Supply Chain Management

  • Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., SCMP, CPSM) are considered an asset

  • Experience using SAP, Ariba, Salesforce, and MS SharePoint is considered an asset

  • Previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry preferred
