Description
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a full-time, contract (until August 31, 2025) Advanced Practice Clinical Leader reporting into the Director of Child, Youth Emerging Adults Program and the Director of Addictions. You will be part of a team supporting care in the Nicotine Dependence Clinic and project work implementing youth focused streams of work for Ontario students in grades 7-12 , who are seeking support with vaping, problem technology use and concurrent disorders.
Aligned with CAMH and Professional Practice strategic initiatives, you will support inpatient/outpatient point-of-care teams, provide team-based clinical supervision and advance clinical care for specialized populations (e.g. child and youth). You will advance clinical practice and provide systems leadership through the implementation and evaluation of best practices in the assessment, care planning and discharge planning of client populations with severe mental health challenges, substance use and trauma histories. You will also provide consultation services to interprofessional teams in other clinical programs across the organization on an as needed basis. Support of family engagement initiatives, quality improvement initiatives, and patient and staff safety strategies is required. Preceptorship of graduate students; engagement in evaluation and research; and participation in interprofessional academic opportunities are all expectations of this role. Together with clinical program operational leaders, you will participate in program planning and evaluation; develop and maintain integrated care pathways to enhance patient population outcomes; participate on internal and external committees; and serve as a clinical resource and subject matter expert in program-level and organizational-level strategic planning activities. The successful candidate will possess a Master Degree in a Health Sciences Discipline and will be a member in good standing with the respective regulatory College. Eligibility for cross-appointment with the University of Toronto is also required. Five years clinical experience involving clients with children and youth, mental health, and/or addiction is preferred. Please note: professional development for work with specialized populations is provided for candidates with a willingness and aptitude to learn new skills. The successful candidate will have demonstrated: the ability to provide leadership in practice development; the ability to challenge and motivate others; commitment to enhancing academic and research endeavors; understanding of and commitment to issues related to promoting diversity; monitoring and measuring outcomes, and experience in leading change. You will have extensive knowledge of best practices for the care and treatment of high risk or acute mental health clients, and have the ability to integrate this knowledge into client-focused clinical care settings within an interprofessional clinical environment. You must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, teaching and computer skills. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
