The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a full-time, temporary (until July 5, 2025) Advanced Practice Clinical Leader for the Forensic Service, Complex Care & Recovery (CCR) Program. Reporting to the Clinical Director, Forensic Service, the APCL will provide professional practice leadership across the Service, and engage in specific practice development work. You will be support point-of-care staff in the implementation and evaluation of best practices in the care of clients with psychiatric illnesses, concurrent substance use, and forensic histories. You will role model clinical practice in complex care situations; engage in direct care activities for complex and high risk clients; support interprofessional collaborative care, academic and research opportunities; promote the implementation and audit of documentation standards; participate in or facilitate quality improvement projects and quality reviews focusing on patient safety.
You will provide clinical supervision to staff as well as mentor/supervise graduate students. Together with Forensic Serviceleadership, you will contribute to model of care planning, support implementation of new care pathways to advance patient outcomes, and contribute to program evaluation. You will participate on internal and external committees; and serve as a clinical resource and subject matter expert in program-level and organizational-level strategic planning activities for both Forensic inpatient and outpatient services. The successful candidate will possess a Master's Degree in Nursing and will be a member of good standing the College of Nurses of Ontario. In addition, 5 years clinical experience involving clients with mental health, addiction and forensic issues is required. Eligibility for cross-appointment with the corresponding University of Toronto Faculty is also required. The successful candidate will have the ability to provide leadership in practice development; the ability to challenge and motivate others; commitment to enhancing academic and research endeavors; experience in leading change; monitoring and measuring outcomes; and the ability to provide advanced clinical care in a culturally diverse environment. You will have extensive knowledge of best practices for the care and treatment of mental health clients with high-risk behaviors and forensic histories and have the ability to integrate this knowledge into client-focused clinical care settings within an interprofessional clinical environment. You must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, teaching and computer skills. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
