Reporting to the Senior Clinical Director of Adult Inpatient Service and Psychosis Recovery and Treatment Outpatient Service, Clinical Care and working closely with the Leadership Team, the Manager (full-time, temporary - until May 29, 2026) is responsible for providing leadership in a dynamic environment. Leading an inter-professional team that includes Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Psychiatric Assistants, Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Residents, Medical Students and other trainees, the Manager will ensure safe operations and the promotion of best practices in acute mental health and addictions care. The Manager will work closely with Leadership and front line staff on program planning and continuous quality improvement initiatives. The Manager will represent the department both within CAMH and with external stakeholders.

Operational activities include scheduling staff; managing human resources, including recruitment, retention and performance management; as well as team planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. The Manager will also support the strong academic mandate of the department, which includes a focus on both the educational experience of trainees, research activities and the ongoing professional development of staff. In collaboration with the Professional Practice Leaders, you will be responsible for the identification and development of educational requirements for staff, providing administrative supervision to members of the clinical team, and for the implementation of evidence based practices. You will be required to support budget planning and monitoring, facilitate the implementation of the CAMH Strategic Plan, and participate in planning and project work. The successful candidate will be a health care professional with a Bachelor’s Degree in a Clinical, Healthcare or Social Services discipline from a recognized institution. While all health care professionals with a master’s degree will be considered, a Master’s degree in Nursing is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. You will have had at least 5 years of previous management experience and possess knowledge of mental health and addiction emergency care, and have sound understanding of inpatient/Emergency Department settings including experience managing a staff team that is mainly comprised of Registered Nurses. As well, you will possess a track record of the provision of client and family centred care; managing an interdisciplinary team; development of linkages/partnerships; strong interpersonal and written communication skills; negotiation; leadership and the ability to work effectively within a dynamic team environment. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and communities is essential. You have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Work, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint). Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
