Project Coordinator (Learning Experience Designer) - Education-camh

Education at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a full-time, contract (6 months) Project Coordinator (Learning Experience Designer) to support the design, development and delivery of learning experiences for CAMH’s Global Learning Academy initiatives. This includes eLearning courses/tutorials, graphic illustrations, user guides and documentation, and other digital learning and support materials.

Reporting to the Manager of Digital Innovation, the Learning Experience Designer will work across multiple teams, including Continuing Professional Development, Evaluation and Marketing & Branding teams, and will collaborate with additional stakeholders including subject matter experts, healthcare professionals and clinical teams, vendors, and other internal and external stakeholders. They will work closely with course development teams to identify the training needs of an intended audience and adhere to guidelines and principles related to instructional design, web design, web accessibility, user experience, and apply principles of equity, diversity and inclusion to learning experiences. The Learning Experience Designer will collaborate with site & course administrators and UI/UX designers to support the integration of eLearning courses into a learning management system (Docebo), create and revise learning objects in multiple formats using HTML/CSS and eLearning software (Articulate Storyline and Articulate Rise 360), troubleshoot technical issues related to eLearning course performance where needed, create course and web layout components, graphic illustrations (infographics, character illustrations, diagrams) and interactive learning activities for eLearning courses/tutorials and media design. They will also support the creation of evaluation tools to assess outcomes of educational activities working collaboratively with evaluation coordinators to report on educational outcomes and impact, and analyze learner feedback to continuously improve course effectiveness.

The Learning Experience Designer will be able to manage multiple aspects of work simultaneously, and work independently, as well as with a diverse team. They will keep up with best practices, innovations, research, theories, technologies, and trends in the educational technology field. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree related to Digital Learning, Digital Technology, Information Technology or related discipline with three (3) years of experience designing content in the field of educational technologies. Substantial knowledge of and experience with learning management systems such as Docebo, Moodle, Absorb, front-end coding languages such as HTML/CSS and libraries such as Bootstrap, eLearning authoring tools such as H5P, Articulate Storyline and Articulate Rise 360, and Adobe Creative suite apps such as Illustrator and Photoshop is required.

Knowledge of user experience principles, instructional design models, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards, web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1), SCORM technical standards, and current and emerging learning technologies is required. Demonstrated knowledge of conducting testing of eLearning courses to ensure functionality, usability and adherence to standards is required. Demonstrated knowledge of technical writing for creation of user guides (including use of screen recording tools) is required. Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral/written), creative problem-solving, attention to detail and organizational skills are required. Knowledge of web conferencing software such as WebEx or Zoom, and Project Management tools such as Asana is also required.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a self-directed manner, as well as collaboratively in a team setting is required. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to and manage changing priorities is required.

Demonstrated knowledge of JavaScript, API, SQL, xAPI, Learning Record store, gamification and Articifical Intelligence are considered strong assets. Previous experience in healthcare and/or academic setting is preferred. Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset
