CAMH is seeking a full-time, Research Assistant 2 (12 month contract) to support the Toronto Adolescent and Youth (TAY) Cohort Study, a 5-year research study supported by the Discovery Fund that will recruit and follow 1,500 youth to determine who is at highest risk of developing psychosis and the relationship between risk and functional outcomes. Reporting to the Research Manager and working closely with the study team, you will support coordination of recruitment and retention of study participants. You will assist with recruiting and screening study participants, obtaining informed consent, scheduling participant interviews, coordinating sample and data collection from participants. Other duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), data entry and data quality control tasks, and maintenance of study documents and databases and other administrative duties as needed. You will support and contribute to a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This position requires some evenings and weekend shifts and is primarily located at 80 Workman Way, with some travel between sites, as required.

The successful candidate will have a least three years Community College with a background in health or social sciences, or equivalent. 1 year of relevant experience in a child and youth-focused clinical research setting. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to produce high-quality, accurate work while meeting project deadlines and requirements. Strong PC software skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel) required. Experience working with Electronic Data Capture Systems such as REDCap is an asset. Experience with library literature search databases (e.g., PsycINFO, PubMed, MedLine) an asset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Previous experience in recruiting, screening, and leading informed consent an asset. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively, and to work independently. Candidates require the ability to work effectively in a wide range of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Experience supporting youth engagement projects and/or youth advocacy initiatives, facilitating focus groups or other consultations with a broad range of participants will be considered an asset.
