The Ontario Tobacco Research Unit (OTRU) was established in 1993 as the research and evaluation component of the Ontario Tobacco Strategy. OTRU has become a key player in the tobacco control community in Canada and internationally. OTRU is located within the Institute of Mental Health Policy Research (IMHPR) at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). IMHPR has an outstanding tradition of combining scientific rigour and practical relevance.
We are seeking a full-time, contract (5 months) Research Coordinator to work collaboratively as part of a team of researchers to develop and implement evaluation research involving both quantitative and qualitative data. This position involves triangulating evidence on the execution and effects of multiple interventions to treat youth suffering from addiction to e-cigarettes, mobile devices, online gambling and other substances. The responsibilities of the Research Coordinator will include managing multiple evaluation research projects including:
The Research Coordinator will contribute significantly to the monitoring of the project work plan and achievement of key deliverables. In addition to overall project coordination, specific responsibilities will include preparation and participation in project team and Advisory Committee meetings. This position will also include assisting in the development of scientific papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Public Health or Health Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Epidemiology or a related field with two (2) years of research direct related experience.
The ideal candidate will have considerable demonstrated experience in data collection and analyzing administrative data and in qualitative data analysis. Candidates will also have demonstrated the ability to manage and analyze large secondary databases. Candidates must have experience conducting literature reviews and proven data synthesis skills. Candidates must have demonstrated experience coordinating key stakeholder engagement initiatives. Experience with grant budgets and financial report acuity is required. The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task are essential skills for this role.
