Position Description:

We are Canada's largest independent information technology services firm, and after 45 years, we're still growing! Join Canada's largest IT Company as a 'Senior Data Modeler' in our Banking Services Division.

The Senior Data Modeler is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing data models to support the organization’s information systems. This role involves ensuring data integrity, eliminating redundancy, and maintaining the flow of information between departments.

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at Downtown Toronto office at a minimum 2 3 days per week - subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain data models to meet organizational needs.
• Ensure data integrity and eliminate redundancy.
• Collaborate with various departments to understand data requirements.
• Stay informed about the organization’s data usage and needs.
• Optimize data models for performance and scalability.
• Document data models and maintain metadata repositories.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data modelers.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data modeling.
• Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, ERwin).
• Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with data warehousing and big data technologies.
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Google, Azure).
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality principles.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases.
