As a Data Business Analyst you will work closely with internal stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications to ensure timely implementation of appropriate and practical technical solutions that satisfy the business needs.
Your job
- Lead research and analysis projects that contribute to the overall benefit of NBIN and its clients
- Collaborate closely and maintain partnerships with internal and external contributors as part of data related projects
- Elicit and clearly document business, systems and functional requirements
- Coordinate requirements walk-through and signoffs, verifying with user representatives/stakeholders that use cases and process models accurately portray specific business needs
- Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements, provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process
- Create and maintain issue logs, meeting minutes, meeting schedules, project summaries and updates
- Act as the SME representing the Data Solutions team to our partners for data inquiries, integration, and workflows automation
- Participate in committees (internally and externally) or special projects that require a high level of expertise and understanding of the NBIN Data Strategy
- Troubleshoot and identify areas of improvement and present viable solutions to senior management
- Analyze business data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization
- Perform data mining, data cleansing, and data modeling to ensure data integrity and accuracy
- Conduct competitive analysis and market research to inform business strategies
- Assist in the development and implementation of data-driven initiatives
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics
The Data team is a key strategic partner at NBIN, responsible for providing data solutions, reporting and support for all internal functions in order to drive efficiencies and effective decision making. You will be reporting to the Manager, Data Automation and App Development,
Prerequisites
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a business analysis role or similar position
- Minimum 5 years previous business analysis and/or project management
- Experience in working with project tracking tools, Jira, Slack, MS Project, etc.
- Experience working with visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau would be considered an asset
- Experience working with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure would be considered an asset
- Experience with big data technologies (i.e. Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) is considered an asset
- A desire to learn new technologies, innovate and be creative in achieving goals
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of business intelligence concepts and data governance principles is a plus
