Job Summary

The position, reporting to the Manager, Operational Planning and Analysis, will transform vision into value; promoting policies, standards, best practices and technology improvements within the Park, Forestry and Environment Division. They will carry out project management processes from project start to finish that includes administration of services, project planning, change management and project execution. This position will support projects division-wide including those related to IT needs, process development/improvement and continuous improvement initiatives. This position will be responsible for working with other areas within the division and City-wide, and communicating/presenting project updates and outcomes to multiple stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage major projects by establishing overall intent, vision, project deliverables, potential issues and required budget resources
  • Monitor project by providing direction to team members and obtaining necessary management approvals; act as a project champion
  • Developing and communicating project updates, reports and other correspondence
  • Analyzing and evaluating research and information from a variety of sources
  • Oversee and direct project team members, complex agreements, cost control, project updates and schedules and project status to confirm conformance with project plan
  • Provide professional consultative services as requested; participate in strategic planning and forecasting
  • Provide regular updated metrics and new initiatives to management to improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Operational Planning and Analysis team
Skills and Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education or professional designation in a related discipline
  • 3-7 years project management experience managing and monitoring large high-profile projects
  • PMP designation is considered an asset
  • Illustrated project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs and appropriate City applications
  • Experience leading presentations and team meetings with multiple levels of management and staff

Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 86,858.00 - $ 115,812.00
