Job Summary

Responsible to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive Public Skating Program during Public Skates to meet the needs of all participants through monitoring compliance of the Skaters Code of Conduct, ongoing supervision and excellent customer and staff relations. Supervise, coach and mentor Skate Patroller Assistant position.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for providing a safe skating experience for the Public by ensuring proper skate patroller supervision and coaching.
  • Ensure customers are wearing required equipment while participating in programs
  • Conduct safety checks of ice conditions, programming space (condition of boards, gates, glass etc.); monitor use of allowed equipment.
  • Ensure ice is clear pre and post skate. Help maintain a clean and safe facility.
  • Perform First Aid, asses accidents and incidents and ensure all Patrol Staff are also doing the same
  • Perform administrative tasks as required such as ratio’s are maintained, Accident/Incident forms; Behaviour reports etc. are completed and submitted.
  • Ongoing inventory of first aid equipment.
  • Communicate any issues to supervisor
Skills and Qualifications
  • The successful candidate must possess a valid Emergency or Standard First Aid with CPR B or C certification (must be recognized by WSIB). The award must be current during the employment period.
  • Strong skating skills and knowledge of safe on ice practices
  • Exposure to cold working environment
  • Primarily arena location

Hourly Rate/Salary: $17.70 - $21.08
Hours of Work: up to 24
