Support the Program Supervisor, with the Recreation and Culture Division’s Skating Programs. Responsible for supporting the planning and implementation of the Program by providing administrative support. Ensure that programs are being implemented consistently amongst the instructors and the program outlines are being followed while helping with the logistical organization and execution of the skating portfolio. Able to provide excellent customer service and be a positive representative for the City of Mississauga programs.
- Assist the Program Supervisor with the overall evaluation of the skating program.
- Effectively and in a timely manner communicate any issues/ information that could impact the quality and safe delivery of the program to the Program Supervisor.
- Evaluate and update program syllabus
- Assist in the development of new programs
- Provide program support in challenging situations (i.e. behavioural issues, parent complaints)
- Provide program support when Program Supervisor is unavailable
- Effectively and in a timely manner communicate with the Program Supervisor all aspects related to facilities, staffing, participants, equipment, supplies or anything that would impact the quality and safe delivery of the program.
- Assist in distribution of program material to instructors (newsletter, report cards, certificates, class lists, etc.)
- Contact program participants in regards to class cancellation and rescheduling
- Provide quality customer service and act as a knowledgeable resource to parents of participants regarding the Skating Program
- Promote program and provide information for progression in the skating program
- Assist in the collection and filing of various forms (i.e. Photo consent, class list, evaluations, etc)
- Assist with data entry using various templates and Active Net program
- Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, daytime, and holidays as required.
- College diploma or University degree in Recreation and/or Education is an asset
- STAR 5 (formerly Junior Bronze) as recognized by Skate Canada (or equivalent)
- Formal training in Skating disciplines including performance and technical experience
- Administrative work experience including proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience teaching/leading staff
- Emergency or Standard First Aid with CPR B or C certification by employment start date at the employee's own expense.
- High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development certification by employment start date at the employee's own expense.
- Level 3 - Vulnerable Sector Check to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted. This is a condition of employment.
- Skating knowledge needs to be current
- Primarily community centre environment
Hourly Rate/Salary: $20.37 - $24.85
Hours of Work: up to 24 hours per week
