POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are currently looking for a person to fill a full-time cook position to assist our chef in preparing meals for residents. Experience in large volumes is an asset.
The residence is very well served by public transportation. Stable schedule and shifts that always end early.
Schedule: full-time, daytime, every other weekend.
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that the use of foodstuffs is optimized in compliance with quality standards
- Perform any other related tasks
- Assemble plates of food
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure good teamwork
- Ensure the kitchen and equipment are kept clean according to established hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Peel and cut vegetables for meals
- Perform meal preparation while supervising and mobilizing staff in the kitchen
- Plan and cook meals in accordance with the appropriate methods and standards
- When appropriate, collaborate with the chef in the creation of the menus by proposing ideas
- Training certification (MAPAQ)
- A proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in institutional cuisine or equivelent
- Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in catering
