POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The nursing assistant team administers medication and ensures that residents' files are updated in the computer tool. They respond to emergencies and work closely with the care team and other departments (kitchen, dining room, maintenance, reception, etc.)
Permanent part-time position in the form of 4/15, 16 hours per week, during the day and every other weekend.
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer medication according to safety principles and the code of ethics
- Collaborate in maintaining the bond of trust with the families or loved ones of the residents as well as with the various stakeholders (CLSC, CSSS, etc.)
- Ensure good communication as well as medical follow-ups with the actors concerned
- Ensure the follow-up of the medical file as well as the prescriptions at the request of the doctor or pharmacist
- Follow up on residents' medical files and prescriptions at the request of the doctor, pharmacist or CISSS
- Notify the nurse and/or the person in charge of health services of any changes observed in the state of health of the residents
- Record notes in residents' files in accordance with the requirements of the Order of Nurses and Auxiliary Nurses of Quebec (OIIAQ) and keep them rigorously up to date
- Collect degree in nursing (DEC) or a proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in health care assistance, nursing
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years experience
- Member of the OIIAQ
- A working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook software
- Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset
