THE POSITION
The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists of planning and organizing activities adapted for out of Province pupils experiencing difficulties with French as a Second Language in order to help them improve their reading, speaking and writing skills.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan educational activities adapted to the specific needs of students from other provinces who have difficulty with French as a second language.
- Organize these activities to facilitate learning and promote significant improvement in students' reading, speaking and writing skills.
- Assess students' level of French proficiency upon arrival and throughout their progress, in order to adjust teaching activities accordingly.
- Provide individualized support to students, taking into account their diverse needs and learning styles.
- Collaborate with other teachers and education professionals to effectively integrate FSL activities into the general curriculum.
- Use innovative and inclusive teaching methods that encourage students' active participation and build their confidence in their language abilities.
- Monitor students' progress on a regular basis and provide constructive feedback to help them overcome difficulties.
- Contribute to the creation and continuous improvement of teaching materials and resources for teaching French as a second language.
- Participate in professional training to keep up to date with the latest pedagogical approaches and best practices in second language teaching.
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that respects students' cultural diversity and promotes interculturality.
