Position: Executive Sales Leader, Western Canada

Location: Hybrid (Calgary)
Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Executive Sales Leader for Western Canada to lead and execute a comprehensive sales strategy focused on driving growth and ongoing transformation in our western region. You will be responsible for overseeing all sales activities, including strategy development, team leadership and strong customer relationships at the C-Suite level.
You will work closely with the executive leadership team to align sales goals with the company’s broader strategic vision and ensure the achievement of revenue and profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities: Sales Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy across multiple sales teams and geographies
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and achieving results
  • Set clear sales goals, performance metrics, and KPIs, and ensure the sales team is equipped with the tools and resources needed to succeed.
  • Build strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to ensure long-term, profitable engagements.
  • Accelerate new style of business outcome selling - selling complete Compugen value stack through new prescribed customer buying journeys
Business Development & Market Expansion
  • Identify new business opportunities and emerging market trends
  • Develop strategies for customer acquisition and retention, focusing on both new logos and expanding existing accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships and business plans with key partners
Sales Performance Management
  • Oversee the day-to-day performance of the sales team, ensuring effective lead generation, pipeline management, and accurate sales forecasting.
  • Utilize data-driven insights and CRM tools to track performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure the sales team is achieving targets.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product management, and delivery teams to align sales efforts with product offerings and customer needs.
Client Relationship Management
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with key enterprise clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and identifying upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex client issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings to enhance visibility and brand reputation.
Team Development & Talent Management
  • Build and nurture a high-performing sales team
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development to ensure team members are growing in their roles and contributing to overall success.
  • Foster a results-oriented culture with a focus on excellence, innovation, and customer-centricity.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment
  • Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align sales goals with organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with marketing to design effective go-to-market strategies and drive brand awareness
Travel within Canada is a requirement for this role.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of sales experience in the IT industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or executive role.
  • Proven Success: A track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets, managing large sales teams, and driving business growth within IT services and solutions.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities with experience in team management, motivation, and performance management.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies while adapting to market changes and client needs.
  • Industry and Regional Knowledge: In-depth understanding of IT products and services, including cloud solutions, cybersecurity, enterprise software, and managed services.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of financial metrics, sales operations, and the ability to drive profitability through strategic sales initiatives.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to engage with C-level executives and other key stakeholders.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field is preferred.
