SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Material Resources, the incumbent will be responsible for the coordination and quality control of CBHSSJB transits units cleaning and maintenance on the territory and will be in charge of the regional Health and Hygiene regional program & framework.
The incumbent will ensure that all transit units are up to standard, that furniture, appliances, cleaning and maintenance is done according to established standard and in charge of dispensing regional training and quality control of Ministry Framework in regards to health & Hygiene.
The incumbent will ensure that health and hygiene standards are met in all our locations including Mirage Outfitter and the Wiichihiituwin Espresso.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
1. Contributes to the management, planning, organization, coordination, implementation, control and reporting within the transit management Unit, according to the CBHSSJBs orientations and policies.
2. Collaborates in the identification and the planning of transit needs:
a) Perform regular inspections and audits on transit units to verify the cleanliness and maintenance of the CBHSSJB lodging;
b) Write reports and recommendations for the Material Resources management team with regards to the state of CBHSSJB temporary lodging units, including:
- Preventive maintenance and repairs of units;
- Furniture and supplies inventory.
3. Assess the needs in technical training and provide on-site training to local employees to ensure optimal service to CBHSSJB employees and clinical professionals.
4. Ensure and coordinate regional training in regards to Health and Hygiene Ministry Framework.
5. Promotes innovation, learning and the use of new practices for their relevance and effectiveness.
6. Perform on-site evaluation of the local staff in support of the Material Resources management team.
7. Collaborates with other Coordinators in the development and planning of on-going and future Material Resources Department policies, procedures programs.
8. Assumes the mandates and responsibilities which are entrusted to them related to communications and sees to their application in the Unit.
9. Ensures that the services provided are based on support of the organization's goal of offering improved health and well-being of the people of the communities.
10. Ensures human, financial, material, and information resources management and the general administration of the Unit.
11. Ensures compliance and respect of the laws, regulations, ethics, norms policies and procedures for the Unit.
12. Ensures that the best practices are implemented to in a perspective of continuous improvement. Ensures the implementation of a Quality Assurance Program relevant to the activities of the Unit.
13. Contributes to an annual formative evaluation of the Unit's projects implementation and the formulation of lessons learned, with the various stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and experience* Bachelor's degree in Administration or other relevant academic discipline;* Three (3) years relevant experience in facilities and capital project management in ideally, a public organization;* Two (2) years experience in or supervision in a multidisciplinary team setting.
Knowledge and Abilities* Very good understanding of the health and social services sector and of its administration;* Significant experience in physical reorganization projects in a departmental setting;* Very good organizational and planning skills, as well as expertise in time and priority management;* Excellent aptitude for written and verbal communication;* Mobilizing leadership;* Knowledge of the laws, regulations, codes and norms for public buildings construction, operations, maintenance and management. Knowledge of such within the MSSS Network is an asset;* Strong record in building and asset management, repairs and preventative maintenance;* Engineering knowledge and experience in all building systems (structural, electrical, mechanical, water, HVAC, etc.);* Knowledge and experience in life-cycle costing and analysis, and all aspects of asset planning and management (buildings, energy, equipment, civil works, etc.);* Knowledge and experience in capital and construction project management and cost-control planning and monitoring;* Knowledge of project management planning and monitoring approaches, methods, techniques, MIS and related planning applications;* Strong record in project management planning and monitoring (meeting deadlines and producing results);* Good knowledge of and experience with program planning, including the development of policies and program manuals and quality assurance systems;* Good record in an appropriate level of facilities management or leadership, with an additional four years of technical experience, and; human and financial resources management is an asset;* Excellent critical/logical/analytical thinking skills and imaginative abstract reasoning in a problem-solving environment, and; organizational and project management skills are essential;* Able to prioritize and work under pressure, and work autonomously and self-reliantly as a manager;* Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership and teamwork skills;* Ability with administrative and AutoCAD computer applications.
LANGUAGE* Fluent in English;* Fluency in Cree and French is an asset.
OTHER* Willing to travel;* Includes on-call periods.
