SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Person who designs, implements, updates, analyses and assesses activities in one or more social programs.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS* Provide professional support, collaborate in researching best practice models;* Provide tools, training and material based on best practices and Cree culture;* Create and design appropriate guidance tools/training based on best practices and Cree culture;* Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with colleagues and partners, both internally and externally;* Work closely with identified local teams and regional partner to implement tools, protocols, other material;* Provide ongoing practical and psychosocial support;* Provide clinical supervision;* Answer helpline phone calls, send referrals, follow up on referrals;* Provide short-term and solution-focused interventions to the helpline client;* Oversee the helpline schedule and worker's report;* Oversee that the service is provided 24 hours 7 days a week for the public;* Conduct supervision session one on one, monthly meetings and training for new employees;* Identify issues with service delivery and problem solving on how to improve services;* Receives and assesses service requests;* Provide monthly, quarterly and yearly statistics reports;* Establish relationships with other organizations such as MSSS, Info-social, AQPS, etc.;* Identify challenges and needs of the employees;* Takes part in the relevant training, at the recommendation of the immediate supervisor;* Performs any other related tasks, at the request of the immediate superior.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: * Depending on the given sphere of activities, must have the required university degree in social sciences, such as criminology, social work, sociology, sexology or psychology;* A human relations officer who has the required university degree in social work and is a member of the Ordre professionnel des travailleurs sociaux du Québec may use the title of professional social worker;
Experience:
- Two years of pertinent experience.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Cree culture, psychosocial, health and mental health issues, Eenou/Eeyou Pimaatsiiun healing practices and paradigms is an asset
- Good knowledge of MSSS legislation, regulations, the Ministry Network and programs, and current trends is an asset
- Knowledge of First Nation health/social service models, trends and issues is an asset
- Ability to identify and analyze clientele needs
- Excellent critical thinking, synthesis, organizational and decision-making skills
- Sense of accountability, resourcefulness and vigilance
- Ability to communicate theoretical and practical knowledge, as applied to coaching and training
- Ability to work in collaboration with a wide variety of professional, clinical, and non-clinical team members and colleagues
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Autonomy and flexibility
- Good working knowledge of computer applications
- Cultural flexibility, open to a wide variety of languages, cultures, values, and beliefs
- Willingness to travel extensively and participate in required training
LANGUAGE* Fluent in English;* Fluency in French and/or Cree is an asset.
OTHER* Required to be available for day on-call shift.
