SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Person who analyzes the needs, conceives and applies professional techniques in all areas of the field of research administration for the CBHSSJB in order to improve research management, tracking of results, and knowledge transfer.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
The APS in the research data center works in an interdisciplinary team responsible for managing data from research projects for the CBHSSJB. The incumbent conducts administrative activities that are necessary for supporting the planning, implementation of systems, management, and follow-up of research data by:

  • Collaborating with the IT department of the CBHSSJB to develop the environment and structure for the research data center;
  • Contributing to the effective and efficient daily operation of the research data center through the Research Office as directed by her/his manager;
  • Contributing to planning for effective information management on all types of media for the research data center;
  • Assessing the administrative needs of the research data center and recommending, developing, establishing and maintaining an appropriate administrative system;
  • Collaborating with the research coordinator in creating policies and procedures, and streamlining them;
  • Coordinating the ''administrative project management" of policies, guidelines, documents, and meetings related to the research data center within the CBHSSJB;
  • Reviewing applicable legal frameworks and flagging changes or updates required in information management in the area of research;
  • Providing and analysing statistics, indicators, performance measures and dashboards of the research data center;
  • Contributing to the circulation of information between the Research Office and the organization, as well as with external partners;
  • Managing, archiving, and retrieving research data and results from the research data center;
  • Liaising with key partners for the use of research results, stewardship of data and knowledge mobilization.

REQUIREMENTS
Education: * Bachelors degree in administration, library sciences, human sciences and social sciences or another appropriate university discipline;
Experience:

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience;

In the absence of a candidate matching the above-mentioned requirements, a candidate with a collegial degree in a relevant discipline such as administration of social science, with five years of appropriate administrative experience may be considered.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Eenou/Eeyou culture;
  • Knowledge of research processes and best practices in research involving human subjects;
  • Knowledge of the Ownership, Control, Access, and Possession principles of indigenous data (OCAP principles);
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data preservation and management with a focus on all types of media;
  • Ability to identify and analyze administrative systems needs in a research data environment;
  • Knowledge of administrative methods and techniques, data analysis, reporting, and information systems;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of administrative procedures and program planning and monitoring, including the development of policies and program manuals and administrative quality assurance systems;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing different files simultaneously;
  • Excellent teamwork skills and self guided work skills;
  • Excellent computer literacy (word, excel, power point);
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Excellent critical thinking, organizational and decision-making skills;
  • Willingness to learn different information management systems (Alfresco, Teams, etc);
  • Willingness to travel.

LANGUAGE* Fluent in English;
* Fluency in Cree or French is an asset.

OTHER* Willing to travel regularly.
