The Mechanical Engineering Technologist is responsible for preparing technical documentation, (drawings, reports, BOM, schematics, …) He will collaborate with Engineers to receive instructions and help create and update technical drawings. The Mechanical Engineering Technologist will provide 2D and 3D drawings for production.

  • Create mechanical drawings by studying customer requirements;
  • Create manufacturing drawings, including dimensional tolerances, GD&T, material, heat treatment, and gear geometry;
  • Research internal similar products for reference purposes;
  • Makes detailed layouts to determine detailed dimensions and to check clearances;
  • Reviews the dimensional data and makes necessary changes to the drawings;
  • Produce support documentation such as BOM, Service drawings, reports…;
  • Manage drawing revisions and update reference tables;
  • Ensure any changes from Engineering revision processes are adhered to in SAP;
  • Release of production orders in a timely and efficient matter;
  • Execute exception messages and realigned work orders and operations;
  • Follows established policies and procedures while ensuring the highest level of quality;
  • Contributes to team work;
  • Participate in continuous improvement or mechanical engineering projects;
  • Manage multiple projects, balancing various deliverables, while working to project timelines;
  • Perform any other related tasks.

Requested skills

  • Capable of measurements using conventional metrology equipment;
  • Strong capabilities with SolidWorks;
