We are on the lookout for a dedicated Operations Coordinator (Atikokan or Fort Frances area} to join our Thunder Bay Woodlands team. This pivotal role encompasses strategic operational planning and oversight of wood harvesting, road construction, maintenance, and transportation. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in orchestrating a Woodlands operation that is not only safe and efficient but also cost-effective, environmentally sound, and sustainable. Your expertise will ensure that our forestry production consistently aligns with our high standards of quality right from the source.

Your responsibilities:
- Uphold and surpass the highest safety benchmarks during all operational activities.
- Act as a key point of contact for Resolute Contractors, stepping in as the primary contact when necessary.
- Collaborate with team members and contractors involved in harvesting and road construction to enhance operational effectiveness while reducing expenses.
- Guarantee adherence to all relevant safety, environmental, and utilization regulations set by government and our organization.
- Contribute to the management of departmental finances, promoting robust cost management practices.
- Participate in the creation of yearly operational and forest road planning.
- Engage proactively in our continuous improvement initiatives to elevate productivity levels.
- Advocate for and enforce quality standards across all operations with staff and contractors.
- Oversee the quality of products such as tree length, roundwood, chips, and biomass to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Ensure all Collective Agreements are followed diligently, fostering a spirit of collaboration.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with government entities and public agencies, including Local Community Councils (LCCs).
- Maintain operational proficiency across all sectors to provide seamless coverage for the Operations Forester or Production Superintendent during their absence.
- Extensive field work and occasional overnights stays may be required.
Ideal profile:
- Possesses 3-5 years of solid experience in operational harvesting, road construction, and team supervision.
- Shows a clear trajectory of leadership development and increasing responsibilities.
- Holds a Forestry degree with a professional designation (or is in the process of obtaining one), or a Forestry Technology diploma coupled with significant experience in operations or planning. Should also have, or be capable of obtaining, Certified FOIP inspector accreditation.
